East European Missions Network

EEMN is a national ministry with an international impact. We serve to mobilize congregations for missions involvement, to send out career and short-term missionaries, and to renew and equip the body of Christ in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union.  Read more...

The February Issue of the "Church Around the World” bulletin Insert published by Tyndale refers to draft legislation that could limit religious freedom and missionary activity in Russia. This news is in fact 4 months old. It is cause for prayer and concern. However, the most current news is that, as of the end of January, this was still just in draft form with no further action taken. Initially there was a strong response to it addressed to the Russian President by people opposed to this.  That may be having some effect.  Jan 26: “At this point there has been no action on the draft, but those who stand much to lose say they are prepared to fight. “They corner themselves when they talk about banning missionary activities. It is absurd to call a speaking person with a book in his hand a criminal, as well as requiring him to have special papers in order to preach. This road takes us straight to the Strasbourg Court,” says human rights expert Lev Levinson.”

The full news release from October that is the basis for the Church Around the World article is below. Restrictions are possible someday but will have no effect on FELC 2010. This does underscore the importance of taking part on a team now while the door IS open. WE STILL NEED PEOPLE FOR FELC 2010 IN PETROZAVODSK SO WE CAN SERVE ALL OF THE STUDENTS WHO WANT TO COME TO CAMP. We also ask you support this fruitful outreach through giving FELC Scholarships and supporting those who do serve on the team.

"Operation Recession Proof"
fundraisers
"Operation recession proof is the name we’re giving our 2009-2010 drive to strengthen the financial base of EEMN for expansion despite the recession.  Did you see Fireproof, the powerful film on marriage with Kirk Cameron? A forty day challenge turned his marriage from hopeless to “fireproof”.  Would you join me for forty days of prayer as we trust God for 500 people and congregations continuing during 2010 that will join our BUILDER’S NETWORK of regular monthly supporters with a minimum $10 monthly gift to EEMN? Some may decide to give more monthly (20, 30, 50 or more), and so take us even more quickly to our goal of 500 new regular commitments or increases.
I ask you to consider giving. If we meet this goal, we can get beyond watching the year end mail and praying that once again we’ll meet our budget. This would enable us instead to invest more year-end contributions in new projects overseas.

As we face a difficult economy, we are choosing rather to look at the face of Jesus and into the faces of the people who we work with in Russia, central Europe and Eurasia, trusting God to be our provider as we press on for His Glory."
- Bill Moberly, Director
